New programme at the Norwegian Academy of Music!

New study program at The Norwegian Academy of Music: "Cultural diversity in music education"!
Finally, we can announce the happy news: In collaboration with the Norwegian Academy of Music, we have put in place a education offer for musicians and instructors with a minority background, or musicians with a special interest in and experience with minority cultures!

The program Cultural diversity in music education has been created to develop competence in managing one's own musical tradition and own cultural resources in the dissemination and teaching of music. This is tailored to you who have an education from countries outside Norway/Nordic countries, who have extensive experience in teaching, but who lack formal competence, or who want to delve into music genres from different parts of the world that you can later pass on and share with others.

The study is session-based, and can therefore be combined with work. It is also possible to participate if you live far from Oslo. The study consists of five weekly sessions: Two weekly sessions in the autumn semester and three weekly sessions (one of which is an introductory course in Norwegian folk music in week 8) in the spring semester.

Application deadline: 15th April
