Get to know Eduardo!

Karstein has had a chat with Eduardo, so that everyone can get to know him better!

K: Tell us: who is really Eduardo Scaramuzza?

I am originally from Pedregulho, a small town in Brazil between the state of Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo. I am mostly a Folk/World Music musician with an education in Classical and Improvised Music. But also working as a cultural worker, producer, composer, photographer and video-maker. I am a bunch of things, but I believe all are connected by my will to learn new skills, belonging, expressing, sharing and co-creating with others.

K: We in Samspill know you as a versatile musician and a member of the Teșî group - what are your artistic plans for 2023?

Besides developing Teșî, Orun and other groups I am part of, I am focusing this upcoming year on producing and composing. I am starting a new project called Estuary Ensemble, which is a group of 6 international musicians based in Norway, people that have been inspiring me with their skills, musicality and kindness. With this new project, I am not performing, but I am working with all the pre-production, production and composing of the repertoire. Furthermore, there are some very promising and exciting things planned for Yellow Sessions Stavanger, KRA - Kunst Rom Arbeid and Ta Kagunda Project. 2023 will be great 😄

K: And now you're the producer for this spring's Sunday World! What made you take this role and what are you looking for in the artists that you will book?

I performed at Sunday World with Orun and with Teșî, I had a great time and the opportunity to meet many other musicians through the program. Because of that and my will to develop my skills as a producer, I decided to apply for the role. I am looking for an exciting mixture of textures, music genres and performances that shine the musicianship between the members of the groups. I am looking so much forward to listening to what the applicants will send.

K: Anything to add?

Yes, I want to say thank you for trusting my work and for the amazing network that Samspill is.
