Skattekista

A family festival with cultural treasures from around the world!

About Skattekista

Welcome to a family festival with cultural treasures from around the world! From the treasure chest flows music, dance and cultural expression from all over the world. And the best part – the children get to try it themselves! Children aged 0 to 12 are invited with their families to a day of concerts, performances and a wide range of workshops and activities.

Skattekista is being established as a brand new family festival in Groruddalen! Skattekista at Rommen is a free offshoot of Skattekista at Schous, which over the past 5 years has transformed Riksscenen into a magical culture palace for children and families. Now Samspill IMN is taking the concept further to Rommen Scene – opening the doors for even more families in Groruddalen!

Here children get to experience cultural treasures from many places in the world. They get to join in, they get to do it together with their neighbours, family and friends. Skattekista shows that we humans, no matter where we come from, have created art and cultural expression throughout the ages.

Flamenco, dhaanto, capoeira, joik, bhangra, darbuka, kora, halling, ebru, mariachi, oud, Romani songs – the list is long and the treasure chest is full!

The festival takes place over two days, at two different locations in Oslo:

In collaboration with

Rommen Scene

Rommen Scene is a professional venue in the Stovner district, operated by the City of Oslo Culture Agency. Both local and professional artists perform here. It is an important cultural hub in Groruddalen.

Riksscenen

Riksscenen is Norway's national stage for folk music and folk dance, located at Schous cultural quarter on Grünerløkka.
