On Friday 28 April, we and our friends in the jazz field organised a panel discussion about the Norwegian government's decision to introduce tuition fees for international students outside the EEA and Switzerland. It will also be more difficult for these students to stay here after finishing their studies. Win or lose for international students and artists in Norway?
The background for the panel discussion is that the government has decided to introduce tuition fees for students coming from outside the EEA and Switzerland. The panel consisted of student and artist from Belarus, Yanina Zaichanka, musician, composer and educator Shannon Mowday from South Africa, rector at the Norwegian Academy of Music, Astrid Kvalbein, and Jazznytt editor, Audun Vinger.
