How to: Technical rider
The document that lets the organiser know what you need, so you avoid surprises on the day.
In short
- 1 A rider is the guide you send the organiser in advance. It is both a practical document and part of the contract.
- 2 The five parts: presentation, PA/mix/monitor, backline, input list, stage plot.
- 3 Keep it short and concrete. Only what actually matters for your show.
- 4 Be flexible. A rider is a collaborative conversation, not a demand.
- 5 Send the PDF to the technical lead 2–4 weeks before the show.
