Jazz as a universal language

OK Sessions is a concert series in collaboration with the record label OkWorld and Nasjonal jazzscene. In this series, the guitarist Oddrun Lilja invites jazz musicians and performers from other genres to meet in musical and colourful display. Jazz in itself is a history of diversity and boundless inspiration, and in the first OK Session we heard a meeting between Norwegian and South African traditional music, jazz funk and afro.

Gjennom 2 samarbeidskonserter per semester, fremmer vi samarbeid som forener jazzmusikere med verdens- og tradisjonsmusikere som både fremmer jazzens rike røtter og speiler Norge som flerkulturelt samfunn. I tillegg til å skape jazzkonserter av høy kunstnerisk standard, etablerer samarbeidet en god plattform for å utvide nettverk og legge til rette for framtidige spennende samarbeid for musikere tilknyttet Samspill. Victoria som Nasjonal Jazzscene er et unikt utstillingsvindu og har en viktig rolle i det norske jazzmiljøet.
