The spring program for Sunday World now ends on Sunday, and we thank Bellali Austria, who has been the producer for the program. Cuban violinist and singer Yeisy Rojas is following in her footsteps! Get to know Yeisy!

Karstein has had a chat with Yeisy, so that everyone can get to know her better!

K: Tell us: Who is Yeisy?
K:  What plans do you currently have going forward - with your own music and your own projects?
K: And now you are the producer for this autumn's Sunday WorldWhat made you take this role and what are you looking for in the artists that you will book? 🕵
K: Anything else you want to add?

I am a violinist and singer from Cuba who lives in Oslo. In December last year I released my first album, and have received a lot of attention both here in Norway with a five in the daily newspaper and interviews in NRK P2, but also internationally with words of praise in Billboard, interviews with Rolling Stone and the largest Spanish-speaking TV channels in the US, Univision and Telemundo. My music is a mix of traditional Cuban music, mixed with jazz and funk. I am educated in classical music, and worked as a violinist in the National Ballet and the Opera in Havana. In 2016, I moved to Norway to study jazz violin at the Conservatory at the University of Agder, where I took both a bachelor's and a master's in performing music.

I will play with my quartet at the Molde Jazz Festival in July, and there will also be a number of other concerts and events. I will also be going back to the studio and work on recording my next album.

The reason I took this role was that I am very impressed by what Samspill does for the artists, and I have also received a lot of help in my career. One of the first things I got to do after I moved to Oslo was to participate in Sunday World with my own ensemble, and it was really great. I think these events are absolutely fantastic for artists who want to advance their careers. It is also nice that more people get to try themselves as a producer, I am grateful for this trust, and I look forward to getting started. In the artists I will book, I look for quality in music and expression, that they are engaged and positive in their communication, and that there will be variety in style and form of expression during the autumn.

Thank you very much for t he trust, I can't wait to get started! 🥰
