This spring's Sunday World program is ready!

Producer Bellali Austria has put together an exciting program for this spring's Sunday World concerts at Cafe Sør! After going through a large pile of applicants with lots of great music, she has chosen the following artists for the programme:

In the music of Nawar Alnaddaf we experience a meaningful encounter between Arabic music and other musical traditions. The singer and oud player comes from Syria, she has a bachelor's degree in Arabic music and is now studying at the Norwegian Academy of Music. There she explores the similarity between the use of microtonality in Arabic maqam music and other western musical expressions.

Sheila Simmenes is a jazz singer and music producer based in Kristiansand, with roots in soul, reggae, Brazilian rhythms and inspiration from all over the world. As an artist and songwriter, she has played at clubs and festivals in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Germany and Brazil, as well as contributed to over 40 releases with other artists including Taeyeon (KR), Lauren/Bambina (NO), Jørgen Dahl Moe ( NO), Satin Jackets (DE), Lucas Silveira (BR)

Patrick Vedlog & Suvrat Apte

5. mai

Patrick and Suvrat have played together for the past two years both in Oslo and in Stockholm. They present the instrumental side of North Indian music through the soft notes of the Bansuri and the wonderful rhythms of the Tabla.

Wooli is a musical duo consisting of Taiwanese Pipa player Fan-Qi Wu and  drummer Michael Lee Sørenmo. The musicians meet at the University of Music in Gothenburg, and otherwise play in projects such as Mykorhiza, Ükya, Fan-Qi Wu trio and Tremolo.
